A career in project and event management in Australia and overseas has included roles as artistic director of two theatre companies, manager of various performing arts and community cultural development projects, and executive officer of Queensland’s peak body for writing. All these positions have required an understanding of artists, art creation and production, and skill in identifying and targeting markets, audience development, service delivery and product promotion.
HB: Since returning to my freelance business, I have managed a number of strategic projects which involved research, writing and program development for art and cultural institutions, here and overseas. Key roles included business consultant and planner, strategist and policy advisor, PR and publicist, fund-raiser and corporate liaison, workshop facilitator for Biz Arts Makers, Metro Arts, Brisbane, Boonah Arts Collective and Partners, SPAR Arts Festival, Boonah Shire Council & Boonah Tourism Group, Flipside Circus, Brisbane, Highlighting Writing, Melbourne.
