Overflow: Playworks/Playlab Short Works Brisbane Writers' Festival 2006

HB: I wanted to write a play with a homestead as the central character. Its characteristics are defined by the people who inhabit the house and the plot becomes the social migrations, political vagaries and the cycle of economic prosperity and decline of each successive generation. The characters in Overflow are fictional but the 100-year old homestead, on which the play is based, is situated in the buffer zone of the proposed Wyaralong Dam, SE Queensland
