Auwas Hoem: Norfolk Island Museum 2005-2006
Situated 1500kms off the coast of Australia, this small island is dominated by the majestic Norfolk Pine which first attracted Captain James Cook in 1774. Described as a “living museum”, the isle is home to 1,800 people and visited by some 30,000 tourists a year. The Norfolk Island Museum is housed in a variety of Georgian buildings in the historic Kingston and Arthur Vale district, where the Anglican chapel attached to the New Goal has been converted into a theatre.

HB: Recent projects have taken me to Norfolk Island and New Zealand where my services included program design, concept development and production management. As part of the brief for Norfolk Island Museum (NIM), I researched the island’s site specific events and cultural performances and benchmarked them with international trends. The outcome was a theatre program to enrich the experience of visitors to the island.
